Optical conductivity of d-wave superconductors
– We study theoretically the optical conductivity of d-wave superconductors like in high temperature cuprates in the presence of impurities. We limit ourselves at T = 0K and focus on the frequency dependence of both σ1(ω) and ωσ2(ω) for ω . 2∆. When the impurity scattering is in the unitary limit, we find a peak in σ1(ω) with ω/∆ ≃ 0.1 ∼ 0.5, which may account for the peak seen by Basov et al. ...
متن کاملOptical conductivity of iron-based superconductors.
The new family of unconventional iron-based superconductors discovered in 2006 immediately relieved their copper-based high-temperature predecessors as the most actively studied superconducting compounds in the world. The experimental and theoretical effort made in order to unravel the mechanism of superconductivity in these materials has been overwhelming. Although our understanding of their m...
متن کاملOptical conductivity and Raman scattering of iron superconductors
We discuss how to analyze the optical conductivity and Raman spectra of multiorbital systems using the velocity and the Raman vertices in a similar way Raman vertices were used to disentangle nodal and antinodal regions in cuprates. We apply this method to iron superconductors in the magnetic and nonmagnetic states, studied at the mean-field level. We find that the anisotropy in the optical con...
متن کاملNormal-state diamagnetism of charged bosons in cuprate superconductors.
Normal-state orbital diamagnetism of charged bosons quantitatively accounts for recent high-resolution magnetometery results near and above the resistive critical temperature T(c) of superconducting cuprates. The parameter-free descriptions of normal-state diamagnetism, T(c), upper critical fields, and specific heat anomalies support the 3D Bose-Einstein condensation of preformed real-space pai...
متن کاملNormal state diamagnetism of charged bosons in cuprate superconductors
Normal state orbital diamagnetism of charged bosons quantitatively accounts for recent highresolution magnetometery results near and above the resistive critical temperature Tc of superconducting cuprates. Our parameter-free descriptions of normal state diamagnetism, Tc, upper critical fields and specific heat anomalies unambiguously support the 3D Bose-Einstein condensation of preformed real-s...
